This was talked about already, and the rumours were true:

Los Angeles-San Salvador service starts 10 June 2004:

AA 797 LAX 2355-0552 SAL
AA 798 SAL 0910-1313 LAX

Daily 757-200 through 07Sep04.
5x a week 08Sep04 through 30Oct04 (xTuTh).
Daily again after that.

Also, finally, daily MIA-CMH! Although, not until 1 November 2004:

AA 4457 MIA 1705-1955 CMH
AA 4458 CMH 2018-2255 MIA

The new flight is scheduled for LatAm connections and O&D.

This does not replace the current service. American Eagle will operate three daily MIA-CMH flights on Saturdays, two on Sundays, and one on Mo-Fr.

DL has been running CMH-FLL for the last 9 months with very high loads 2x daily with ERJ145's. Also CMH-TPA, RSW, MCO. Also WN has nonstop CMH-TPA. The demand for CMH to Florida flying has always been there. It's nice to see another carrier joining a market which is pretty short on capacity..

..correct me if I am wrong...but is this not RETURN of service LAX-SAL?
Yes, they operated the service for a short time back in 1995, along with LAX-GUA and I think LAX-SJO.

Excellent news concerning the long-anticipated upgrade in service between Columbus and Miami. AA has slowly been adding to their services in CMH, with additional frequencies to RDU and LGA, increased capacity to ORD, and now daily MIA service. CT is most definitely correct that a huge pent-up demand still exists for service between Columbus and Florida though.
