I'm sure you were given your options, but although we are shorthanded on the ramp, I heard that cargo was where the transfers were going in Dallas. Just hearsay and rumor that they need twelve or so heads there.bob@las-AA said:After 6.5 years in LAS, got called to Dallas for Full Time. Now I need a place to live. Any help is welcome!
Thanks for the info!AANOTOK said:I'm sure you were given your options, but although we are shorthanded on the ramp, I heard that cargo was where the transfers were going in Dallas. Just hearsay and rumor that they need twelve or so heads there.
Just an FYI, we usually have what's called a "crossover" bid once a year around Sept/Oct where folks can bid into or out of cargo. Other than that, they post periodic 10th of the month bids when holes open up on the ramp or cargo. Throughout the year both cargo and the ramp have their own series of bids just for their folks.
I know this doesn't help with a room, but just a little info you may (or may not) be interested in.
Welcome to DFW!
Thank you sir, will do!FLYNFISH said:First of all, congrats. It a great station to work compared to a small station. I was treated well there by coworkers and supervisors. I was a commuter for 1 1/2 yrs. I did 3 13 hr days and out. The Motel 6 north has a good commuter set up. $31.00 a night, shuttle to the airport, a decent little crew room upstairs with internet, full kitchen, etc. For my situation it worked well. Check it out. good luck! There are several crash pad set ups always looking to fill a spot. Ask around for Roger he owns several. I have several friends that rent a room from him.
Thank you !eolesen said:When I transferred to JFK years ago, I went into crew ops, and found a bulletin board filled with tear-offs for all the crashpads and rooms for rent. The same setup existed in just about every crew base, and may still exist at DFW...
There's certainly no shortage of apartments available in the area.
