Delta will be vacating Concourse E at MKE and moving over to Concourse D. Delta will takeover the former Midwest Airlines Club and maintain the same number of gates it leased in Concourse E. The move is expected to be completed by the end of November 2012 per reports.

Southwest will be joining AirTran by moving over to Concourse C from Concourse D, the date of this move isn't known yet.

US Airways will be moving back to Concourse D from Concourse C. The date of move isn't known yet.

The Airport Authority wants United to move their split operations from Concourse C/E over to Concourse D. Nothing has been decided yet.

With US Airways & the Airport Authority pushing United to move over the Concourse D, this would free up those gates for a larger Southwest operation in Concourse C.

In addition, the Airport Authority is considering closing Concourse E, which is the oldest and smallest of the three.

If the move(s) go as planned this is how everything would look;

CONCOURSE "C"

American
American Eagle/Connection
Southwest
AirTran (until merger w/swa completed)

CONCOURSE "D"

Delta
Delta Connection
US Airways
US Airways Express
United
United Express
Frontier

CONCOURSE "E"

CLOSED

Hope they announce the final lineup at least 3 months in advance. Passengers who think the ashtray will open the lav door will be outraged when they show up at Concourse E and find it closed because "DL has always flown out of Concourse E."

The Delta move has been made public over the last few weeks in media such as the Milwaukee Business Journal. I recall when Delta, US Air & America West started flying out of MKE,

Gotta love mergers and/or gate shuffles.........reminds me of the movie Airplane. "Now arriving at Gate 1, 2, 3, 4, 5............

US Airways/US Airways Express has now relocated in MKE from Concourse "C" over to Concourse "D". (*** As of 11/14/2012 only a few US Airways Flights are still operating out of Concourse "C")
