Say you're a mainline employee. Say you're given the MDA or else option. Say you choose or else.

As MDA is 'mainline division', does this mean no unemployment?

I have to figure the Palace is out to screw you out of everything.

Good question. Probably a correct assumption.
.
I tried to call benefits within the past few weeks, asking what would happen if the sta that I work in becomes mainline express. Was told basically 2 options...1 take it or 2. not take it , and hopefully get severance pay...then say good bye.

I then asked about something else..."What IF we go chapter 7?" Was told, "We will not talk about any question which begins with 'What if....or Suppose.' Reading on gov web sites, etc, one finds out that the agents pension which was frozen years ago, and the numbers you have been receiving thru the mail for the past few years could MEAN NOTHING. You will probably get a % of that amount. Medical coverage?...it's gonna take your entire saving to get any, and you better hope you don't have any pre-exsiting conditions. You know, the stuff that all us middle age people have, high blood pressure, the need for prozac, etc.

I don't need K-Y JELLY anymore. Don't even want a kiss thank you. But I do think I see the weiner coming again.

I am not sure about Mainline to MDA, but I can tell you about going to Mainline Express. You can go to another station that will be on the list in your packet, or take the furlough with severence and unemployment....or you can stay and work for Mainline Express at poverty wages. I have heard that it works a bit different with MDA. Maybe someone in PHL can shed some light on this for you.

People who are refusing part time and taking the furlough from full time are getting unemployment. I'm not sure what happens if you refuse MDA.

I heard that the CSAs in PHL that were to be displaced Sept 13th are now being told that they have to work MDA instead of being bumped to part time or taking the voluntary furlough. They were told that they will work MDA until sometime between Oct 3rd and Nov 1st (or 8th, I can't remember). At that point the company will have the new hires trained for MDA and then you can go about your regularly scheduled displacement. So even the people that took the furlough over being bumped to part time have to work MDA. You'll have some happy to be keeping a job for an extra month or two, but there are many that wanted the furlough and severance instead of waiting until your replacements are trained.
