Joe Smith started the day early having set his Alarm Clock(made in JAPAN) for
6:00 AM

While his Coffee Pot (Made in CHINA) was perking he shaved with his electric
Razor (Made in HONG KONG) He put on his Dress Shirt (Made in Sri Lanka),
Designer Jeans (Made in SINGAPORE) and Tennis Shoes (Made in KOREA)

After cooking Breakfast in his new electric skillet (Made in INDIA) he sat down
with his calculator (Made in MEXICO) to see how much he could spend today.
After setting his watch (Made in TAIWAN) to the Radio (Made in INDIA) he got
in his car (Made in GERMANY) and continued to search for a Good Paying
American Job.

At the End of yet another DISCOURAGING and FRUITLESS DAY, Joe Decided
to Relax for a While.

He put on his Sandals(Made in BRAZIL) Poured himself a Glass of Wine ( Made
in FRANCE) and turned on his TV (Made in INDONESIA) and then wondered
Why he can't find a GOOD PAYING JOB IN ......... AMERICA !!!!! ;)

It's accurate in many ways, but also misleading. For example, the businessperson in Taiwan flew from Kaosiung to Taipei on an airplane made in the US, working on an IBM laptop made in the US, running software made in the US.

That list is really old. Read that on bulletin boards ( cork, not CRT ) over a dozen years ago.

One way you can tell is Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Korea. Their labor has also begun, to varying degrees, to be too expensive. They're getting outsourced out of work as well.

Well, maybe, oneday all of the countries that we have outsourced to, will get so expensive, that they will start outsourcing back to the US of A. Cause we will be the cheapest labor in the world. ;)

ktflyhome,

I know you meant that as a joke, but in fact that is exactly what will happen. In order to get there, the standards of living have to equalize among the trading nations first. I fear, though, that this will not happen in my lifetime...or, if it does, will come too late to be of much help to me.

Yep, everytime I sit down in my American made Honda, I'm reminded of the investments foreign companies have made here in the USA. But because they are not union jobs, they don't count to the Dems....
