FRANKFURT (Dow Jones)--A German pilots union said Wednesday that its members employed by Deutsche Lufthansa AG (LHA.XE) voted in favor of indefinite strike action in a dispute over pay and job security at Germany's largest airline.
The labor union told reporters it is calling a four-day strike starting Monday, marking the first walk-out by pilots at Lufthansa's core passenger and cargo operations in about nine years.
Further strike action following the first walk-out cannot be ruled out, said Ilona Ritter, who heads the tariff policy department at union Vereinigung Cockpit.
