So now the IBT at UAL goes to mediation. Now what?
Well a previous negotiator, let's just call him Ken, has been making his rounds telling members that the "no voters" really screwed up and now we will have to start from zero when we go to mediation. Hey Ken! Wake up! First, we didn't screw up, you did! Second, we want to start from zero because the concessionary TA you guys brought to us reflects the failure of your job. Now Ken is begging to be on the new negotiating team. Holy crap Ken, I don't think so.
According to our local Principal Officer here in Denver we will be allowed to elect our new negotiators. Currently, we do not know if it will be the same at the other locations. Here is what we are concerned with, if we are able to elect all of our UAL Employed negotiators then we must demand that the lead negotiators, David Bourne and Clacy Griswold not be part of future negotiations. It would be useless to have elected negotiators if the lead negotiators use the same tactics as the last negotiations by putting our elected negotiators in a room separate from the face to face negotiations. If that does happen then we will end up with the same poor product as before.
In order to make this happen the voice of the membership needs to be heard. Click here to contact President Hoffa to let him know that Mr. Bourne and Mr. Griswold must not be part of this negotiating team. We should also demand a more open negotiations with surveys and continuous honest updates
