Since I am the crazy day tripper let talk about Crazy Day Trips..... here is some of mine... all of the trips are RT

CLT-SJU for 4hrs

CLT-EYW for 4hrs

CLT-LGW for 3hr (that was not planed lol)

CLT-HNL for 3hr ( i just wanted to say i been on that flight)

PHX-LIH for 8hr

PHX-HNL for 8hr

CLT-PHX-ANC for 20min (yes 20hr of flying for 20min)

PHL-TLV for 32hr

The next few are the ones i am planing on trying to do

CLT-FRA for 6hr

CLT-GIG for 8hr

CLT-CDG for a few hrs

PHL-ANC for 3HR

Not sure how much fun some of those flight sound!

Most times when I fly I try to maximize productivity and 20 minutes does not due it. I have however, flown from New York to Tampa via Philly to personally hand deliver something. About an hour later I was back on a plane to Charlotte. That is about it for the day trips in recent memory. I think if I did the Charlotte Hawaii flight I would have had my bag packed for a few days. Too long a flight to just say I was on it!

Couple of mine none recent.

LGA-MCO-SJU US 757 1 day only equipment sub for a 727-200
SJU-PHL-LGA same as above, this is back when they where in a F16 Config, some of
you may remember that, btw all 4 legs in F, quick late lunch in SJU airport FUN day !

LGA-GSO US F-28
GSO-PHX US 727-200 being returned to lessor, we flew around the GSO-INT area for about
90 minutes checking systems, shot 2 missed approaches at GSO before preceding to PHX.
PHX-PIT-LGA US 733, left LGA Approx 0630, returned approx 2345. Really long AWESOME day !

SEA-KTN-WRG-PSG-JNU-ANC AS 737-200 Combi
ANC-CDV-YAK-JNU-SIT-KTN-SEA AS 737-200 Combi
10 legs and another amazing day, around 1990 I think. Full HOT Breakfast (SEA-KTN) Lunch (JNU-ANC)
& Dinner (KTN-SEA). Complimentary Champagne on the short legs, incredible scenery, 3 great crews,
and daylight the entire time until about 30 mins from landing in SEA around 2300L WOW !

In the early 80's, a few of us would board an plane and decide on a Gate number in Charlotte. Once we got to that Gate, we went where ever the next flight was going to. Only once was it a flight to our departing station. Saw some crazy place we would never gone to.

Back when I would do "Mileage Runs" to make sure I re-qualified for Chairman's my then G/F and I drove to BWI, spent the night then took the 5:30AM BWI-CLT-LAX trip. We were upgraded easily. We hung out at the CLT club for a few hours had a Mimosa or two and then boarded the CLT LAX leg also in F. By now lunch was being served and my recollection was that it was pretty good. Got absolutely poop faced on the flight (both of us) and deplaned and off to the LAX Club. Sobered up a bit and walked over to get dinner at the spaceship looking restaurant and had more to drink. Got back to the Club about 8PM, took a "nap" until it was time to board the red eye back to BWI via PHL this time. More F/C adult beverages until we "fell Asleep" (read passed out) Got to BWI and went back to the hotel and crashed for like 6 hours and drove home to Jersey. Cost of airline ticket= $182.00 each. Cost of Hangover- Priceless. We had more fun than any two white people should be allowed to have

Most recently (November, 2010), I flew LAX-FRA for one night before flying back to IAH. (This was part of the Flyertalk Star Mega Do.)

I flew to Miami 2 weeks ago, spent a day there, and flew back to LAX.

I have also flown to GSO a couple of times to have dinner with FFOCUS members, and then flew home the next day. The first time I did this, I was only in GSO for 14 hours.

One of my co-workers once flew to SIN for 7 hours and then flew back to LA, to maintain 1K status.

A few years back I sandwiched a PHX-OGG trip in between two morning classes. Being up for two days straight wasn't very enjoyable, but it was a fun story to tell for a while.

While not being a mileage run, I have never taken one, with the exception of adding an additional leg occasionally, I was forced to do the following one day due to IROPS the day before, and it convinced me that mileaqge runs are a lot of 'work"

ATL-PNS-ATl-TPA-ATL-MHT

I was in both PNS and TPA for less than 3 hours each. The worst part was being in ATL 3 times in one day
