Frontier Airlines put the nail in the coffin Friday to its dying Los Angeles focus- city operation, scrapping a 7-month-old strategy that had sputtered from the start.
The Denver-based discount carrier said it would end nonstop service from Los Angeles to Philadelphia and Kansas City, Mo., effective Feb. 23. Those were the last remaining of the four cities it had begun serving last spring from Los Angeles as part of a plan to diversify outside its Denver hub.
