JetBlue Airways will discontinue service between Tampa International Airport and Newark Liberty International Airport on May 3, a JetBlue spokesman said Monday.
JetBlue will trim the two daily flights it inaugurated Oct. 19 to compete with Continental Airlines on the Tampa-Newark route.
However, it will maintain its service between Tampa and New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport and between Tampa and Boston, spokesman Brandon Hamm said.
"JetBlue is altering its summer schedule a little bit and shifting aircraft and flights," Hamm said.
JetBlue will add a Newark-San Juan, Puerto Rico, flight May 3; Hamm could not say whether that was why the Tampa-Newark flights were being discontinued.
