JetBlue Airways to increase Airbus fleet
JetBlue Airways will grow its Airbus A320 fleet as a result of converting 30 options to firm orders. The airline will operate 69 (currently 60) of the type by the end of 2004. With firm orders standing at 123 as well as 50 options, the fleet may reach 233 A320s by 2012. The airline begins delivery of the first of 100 firm orders for Embraer 190 aircraft in mid-2005. JetBlue operates to 24 destinations in the US and Puerto Rico and was due to launch flights to the Dominican Republic on 10 June 2004.
