this question/concern is not laden with any accusatory inflection...yet.
i was, however, just checking out taxes for my annual, and rapidly approaching, trip to sxm. i go every year--normally not during the peak of hurricane season, but, hey, sometimes you have to roll the dice--and i noticed that the taxes are nearly double what they have historically been. i know a new terminail has been built in sxm, but, the taxes seems excessive. taxes were normally in the $50 range; they are now $95?? now, i am beyond certain that the team-tempe regime would never artificially inflate non-rev tax obligations for their cherished employees, but, does anybody have any insight that would help explain this radical increase? has anybody noticed this in any other international markets, excluding hawaii, of course ?
many thanks for any help on this!!
