Does anyone know whether US has 3rd/4th freedom rights to serve India? Do they have any 5th/7th freedom rights to serve India from a European point?

I'm just curious....

Panam (Delhi) and TWA (Bombay, as it was called) both had 5th freedom rights suporting their round-the-world flights. I assume those rights survive.

Getting new routes approved is apparently another matter as CO tried and failed last year. Despite this denial, the US for some unknown reason allowed Air India a new route to LAX.

Delta's using Pan Am's old rights, but I'm pretty sure they serve Mumbai and not New Delhi. In fact, they're adding JFK-FRA-BOM to the existing JFK-CDG-BOM (which I believe was 10x weekly this summer) for the winter.
