I'm tired of applying on line and getting no where with the Airlines.

I want to work for an airline!

I have a degree in Management
4-5 years management experience
4-5 years of Recruiting

I've worked for an airline before (they pulled out of where I was working) and I would like to get into management, human resources, or training.

If interested please email me - [email protected]

Thanks for your time!

With the state of the airline industry today conveying no job security at all like a revolving door....though I would like to be working for an airline, its the lousy pay and job insecurity is keeping me away.

A few years back, I gave it a try with a brief stint for UQ and something happened while on the job wishing that I was never on the job in the first place.

The lure of free travel perks may be nice, but to me salary and job security matters to me more than anything in this day and age when cost of living keeps skyrocketing !

My 2 cents worth.... :( :boring: :cold:

Not sure what type of work you'd want to do...BUT if you go to various Airline websites they usually have "Open Houses" or "Information Sessions".... Without knowing what position or location your looking for not sure how much more I can help.

I can DEFINATELY tell you one thing..... As far as Flight Attendants go almost ALL the other airlines are hiring anyone WithOUT previous experience.... Guess they're afraid we're going to Taint their ways!!!!!!!!

You can PM me with more specifics if you want!!!!!!!!!!

Move on with your life. I have been with airlines all my life. Back when the industry was regulated, if you had an airline job you had a dam good job. Today, if you have an airline job you have a job with declining job security and declining compensation package. Travel benefits (if that is what you are chasing) are hardly there anymore. Job satisfaction is the last thing you will get from an airline job now. I have never heard so many airline employees wishing they were 55 so they could "early out!" And you want a piece of that?

I agree with fix airplanes. I started for an airline shortly after deregulation and the first three years were awesome. There were a lot of old timers still working and teaching and I lucked out with the opportunity to learn from them. I left the airlies for the very reasons Fix Airplanes listed.

New managements lost the ability to manage airlines-it is not an ordinary business; They shouldn't try to run it as such. New mechanics have a different, less enthusiastic, attitude toward the proffession and it just was not fun anymore.

Picture this: waking up every morning, wondering how much longer you'll have your job. That is what most of us in this industry do.

If you're really determined to do it, though, I'd suggest casting in your lot with one of the growing LCC's - if you could call it a suggestion. Your options are limited, but you might try ATA, JetBlue, etc. ...one of the airlines who still hire once in a while.

If you're willing to take the risk, good luck.

Years ago working for an airline was nice. You were proud of it. Back many years ago when I had a good job I was looking up wanting to work for the airlines. Got my first airline job 1979 carrier closed the doors in 1984. Am now employed by another major carrier that is probably not long for this world. It is to me no longer a good job. I wish I could go back to where I came from. I hope you don't make the same mistake..Anyway good luck..

On a positive note....

If you can get on with a good airline, it is the best job in the world. (depending on your job position). I have owned small aviation companies, managed large aviation companies, and did a stint for Uncle Sam. All of these jobs had their pros and cons, but at the end of the day, I would have to admit a good airline job beats them all in my humble opinion. The key word is "good", I have flown for airlines that are no longer around. Its a crapshoot and luck plays a part in whether you will be able to retire at the airline you choose to work for. However, if you want security then you should go to work for the government.

Hope that helps.

You don't want to work for an airline. Use your talents some place else. The state of the airline industry today is deplorable at best. Picture this: thousands still on lay off, declining benefits, poor morale, etc.

To top that, those of us who still are on layoff since 2001 wake up each day wondering where our next job will come from or our next dollar. Bills stack up, no health insurance, and the economy just stinks. Its been that way since George W stole the white house. The man is clueless, its the economy stupid!
