HUNTSVILLE — Huntsville International Airport lost one of its three direct flights to New York City when US Airways Express dropped its daily flight to LaGuardia Airport.

That leaves area passengers with two Continental flights that fly directly to Newark Liberty International Airport each day.

"Poor flight performance on the part of US Airways caused some of the passenger decline, Peek said, mentioning delayed flights and having to transfer to other airlines as a frequent problem."

So instead of trying to fix the performance issue, we are just going to give up. That is really sad.

MarkMyWords,

I'm sure you didn't miss the irony in the quote:

"on the part of US Airways"

As mentioned over and over by many in several threads, it doesn't matter who actually operates the flights. It is our name on the side and our reputation on the line.

Just curious if HSV-LGA was MESA service. If it is/was it is understandable about the reliability

Doesnt matter who Flies it, the USAirways name is on the plane.......

Mesa doesn't fly into LGA. It's all Chatauqua.
While the LGA-HSV service was indeed Chautauqua, other Express carriers do operate RJs into LGA. See, for example, LGA-AVL (Mesa and Chautauqua), LGA-CAE (Mesa), LGA-DAY (PSA), and LGA-RIC (Trans States and Chautauqua).
