Praise Allah and pass the cranberries please.

Did you know that the turkey you're going to enjoy on Thanksgiving Day this Thursday is probably halal? If it's a Butterball turkey, then it certainly is -- whether you like it or not.

A citizen activist and reader of my website AtlasShrugs.com wrote to Butterball, one of the most popular producers of Thanksgiving turkeys in the United States, asking them if their turkeys were halal. Wendy Howze, a Butterball Consumer Response Representative, responded: "Our whole turkeys are certified halal."

Halal slaughter involves cutting the trachea, the esophagus, and the jugular vein, and letting the blood drain out while saying "Bismillah allahu akbar" -- in the name of Allah the greatest. Many people refuse to eat it on religious grounds. Many Christians, Hindus or Sikhs and Jews find it offensive to eat meat slaughtered according to Islamic ritual (although observant Jews are less likely to be exposed to such meat, because they eat kosher).

If the Islamophobes can't bear the thought of eating something possibly labeled Halal, perhaps they should stick with ham; it is certain not to be Halal.

BTW, the Butterball website states that for the International market, they have the expertise and capability of providing Halal certified turkeys.

I'll smoke my turkey with pork tenderloin. It's all good in the neighborhood.

It's not like the slaughter method alters the taste of the meat. They say some words. Who cares? They do it for business reasons. It's about money. That's the American way.

Good point......how stupid me.....I guess they don't eat turkey in Dearborn?

Say what you wish, the issue is not telling anyone in labeling. Some Christians and Jews believe Islam worships an idol. Even butterball admitted they didn't label all halal birds.

It's like kryptonite for Superman.....Muslims eat Mickey Dee fries cooked in pork fat, Christians eat turkey blessed in the name of Allah.

Minus " the words" , Kosher means the poultry was slaughtered the SAME way !
(I work with a couple of Jews, and Algerians)

PS, My TURKEY is Fine. Hows your Turkey dell 🙄 😀

Slaughter and blessing by a heathen religion are two different things. My God, I hear the Indians just cut their heads off.

Damn...what will happen with me.....I choked my chicken a few times.....

Well as far as your "chicken" issue goes, you (most likely) can do A or B ;

A. Say 9 extra Hail Mary's
or
B. REBUKE SATAN, "sign up" 10 new converts
AND
in either case A or B,
Tithe TRIPLE !!!

I thought I read TED HAGGARD say (somewhere) that...that would work ! 🙄

Replace the words Islam and halal in that article with Judism and kosher and what do you get?

Kosher and Halal

One differentiation between Halal and Kosher is that before slaughter, Halal requires the praying to Allah. Kosher does not require a prayer to God before slaughtering.

I wonder how mass produced meat gets the Halal stamp. 😛
