JFK-MEX
JFK-PHX
LAX-GRU
MIA-Manaus
ORD-WAW (with LOT leaving for Star)
JFK-JNB

?
Lots of opportunities out there....

JFK-MEX, JFK-PHX, and LAX-GRU would do fine loadwise, but I don't think AA would have a hit.

MIA-MAO would do very well with a 738. AA applied for this route in 1998 and intended to start service that fall, but it never surfaced.

ORD-WAW would probably do good, but yield may be an issue.

JFK-JNB? No way. Forget it. MIA-CPT-JNB would be a goldmine considering Miami has America's largest South African community. AA was looking into doing MIA-CPT, 3x weekly with 777s back in 2000, but their 777s do not have the range to make the flight economical.

You would think AA would fly JFK-PHX just to bust AWAs chops for flying transcons.Might as well throw in JFK-LAS for good measure too.

Aren't we prohibted from serving MEX-JFK? I was under the impression we did not have the route authority and that their are limits on who can serve what from where?

American Airlines can fly it. Under the US-Mexico air treaty, any route between a US and Mexican city can be served by two US airlines and two Mexican airlines (plus any number of 3rd country carriers that can secure the 5th freedom). From JFK, Delta is the only US carrier flying to MEX.
