How many A/C normally RON in DCA?

Flew into DCA last night around 10pm and was surprised to see how many A/C were stacked up on the tarmac.

The Star * livery was in the hanger, the RJ's and props were lined up like soldiers and behind them a 737 and a 319 were just about nose to nose, side by side. Seemed to be only one free gate which was probably waiting for the last night flight from CLT.

Is this usual?

Just a guess only since no one else has answered, it may be due to holiday schedule.

Most nights there are 13 or 14 AC in DCA. Gernerally 3 EMB170's and 11 ML.

I miss the days when LGA has 21-22 a night ... all mainline & shuttle metal

We get 9 mainline airplanes from sunday to friday nights, and 12 on saturday nights.
