Hiring Pilots For Mda

I don't know why, but now they're running a newhire class for MidAtlantic pilots in a couple of weeks. Last rumor I heard very recently is that they were overstaffed by 70. Things that make you go....hmmmm.

Maybe Republic put in an order for more pilots.

It wouldn't really be a "new hire" class though, still furloughed people i assume... but you never know now.

They'll have to do the same for F/As. Most of the ones that were called back to mainline had passed (senior blockholder at MAA in base of choice or rock bottom reserve in LGA for dreary mainline- you'd make more at MAA and ceertainly enjoy work more). But now with this Republic deal they will likely go back and MAA will be shortstaffed.

The company went all the way through the furloughed pilots trying to get them to go to MDA to fly the same routes and passengers that they flew at Mainline. But of course there was an unthinkable difference in the pay and benefits.

Almost all of the furloughed pilots told the company where they could put it... so now they are hiring off the street.

There are still pilots on the APL that are awaiting captain positions only, and I would have thought there would be more CPL pilots that wanted to flow through. I guess with the recent news no one wants to go.

If they actually hire the 8 guys projected the will NOT be new hires. The captains Will be furloughed guys and the FO's will most likely also be furloughed guys. In the off chance they are not, they will come from the CEL.

Yeah, sorry "newhires" caused so much confusion. They won't be real newhires just furloughed U pilots in the left seat and either them or CEL folks in the right. I'm just confused 'cause I thought they were considerably overstaffed.
