Where have US Airways A330-323X widebody aircraft reg N272AY been (since the last flight date was on Oct 26th)? I wondered if N272AY is getting repaint first A330 new US Airways livery or heavy checkup.

Have you seen N272AY at Mobile Downtown Airport hangar in Mobile, AL if they have new livery possible?

I saw it the other day.

It is in the process of being melted down and turned into 4 RJ's that will be ETOPSed for our new routes to Athens, Istanbul, Morocco, Sun City, and Elmira.

The new meltdown RJ's will be painted in the old Allegheny Commuter colors so we remember our great heritage.

Istanbul for the interior.

Mexico for the paint.

Iceland for the engine work.

And anywhere but in house for everything else.

Unless there is nowhere to put it and it drops dead today...... By the way, we need it back in two days. And we don't want to hear about tooling, parts or training--it ain't gonna happen.
