Does anyone know if AirTran has plans of dropping service to GSO from ATL? I just inquired on AirTran's web site for flights fom GSO to ATL in October and there were no flights available. I could not find any flights after August.

Aren't a few RJs left in the system? When do they leave? Are these flight being cut to fill the void the removal of the few remaining RJs will create?

There are two RJs still flying ATL-MKE-BWI. They will leave at the end of July when then MKE-BWI route is dropped.

It's curious that the dropping of Tallahassee and Greensboro is coming many weeks *after* the last CRJ leaves the AirTran fleet and while the 737's are coming. Indeed there was some question on how AirTran would fill the gap to replace the CRJ markets, but they are managing to do just that as we speak. And except for dropping MKE-BWI when the last CRJ goes shortly, they'll manage to flying all their markets.

So it's not a simple aircraft shortage.

Even in the best of times most airlines have some money-losing routes, but these days just about everyone has at least some. Sounds like soon AirTran will have four fewer (TPA-TLH, TLH-ATL, MKE-BWI and ATL-GSO).
