Which airline can be acquired for $250MM??

Almost every airline could be had for that sum except SWA, jetBlue, Air Tran, AA, CA, and AK. The question is not who could be acquired for that amount, rather who would come to the table to finance the operations for the new entity. I think the US/HP merger will be the model for future consolidation.

I hope they only become a regional Colorado carrier. This airline is a total joke and who can take any airline seriously when they hire FISH and paint there planes with animals on it. Cheap ones!!!!!!

SPG Trvlr,

Only 14 posts and you have already proven that your an idiot. Bravo. If you can't bring anything intelligent to the conversation, I would recommend that you get back to your algebra homework and leave the adults alone.

With F9 only having Airbus equipment, I don't think there is an airline that they can acquire as a whole and have it fit, except Indepence Air. I wouldn't touch IndyAir right now as they APPEAR to be taking on some serios water in their boat. Indy has or will cut all West Coast cities except LAS by November 30. Now with the $250MM, F9 could possibly get some deals through the NWA or DL bankruptcy proceedings. Things such as landing slots or some returned A319s might be had. I just think that F9 would be better suited to grow from within right now with that money. Just my thoughts..............

SPG TRVLR,

Man, who the F*&K are YOU? Just like the folks on the UniTED board, you don't even know me!!! Regional carrier  YEAH RIGHT???? Frontier is no regional carrier, we are a flag ship carrier with international authorization, DENVERS HOMETOWN AIRLINE PERIOD! So if we take the 250 MIL buy or acquire some 190's, it would put us in a real good position to compete with UniTED/TED here in Denver. Maybe we can add some FC seating on those 190's or economy plus like UniTED. Ohhh Yeah the business guys that fly out of here on F9 everyday on a decent fare could give two s&!ts about FC or economy plus  . They just want to be treated like a long time friend is all! And fly at a reasonable price!

Their TV spots are great! I'm glad they have them available for viewing on their website, as I don't live in a market where they are aired on local TV.

I wish them luck. It seems like a nice operation, and my friend "Uncle Lou" from LI works there.

Don't be surprised to hear in the near future that Frontier and Virgin America are working together.

That would be a shame...Frontier's doing great just the way it is, and while they are an LCC obviously, they have a better perception than the average low-fare. I don't want the image tainted by Virgin. Ugh.

I thought Virgin's low-cost operations (e.g. the ones in Europe and Australia) were fairly well-perceived; is this not the case?

Virgin Express is the black sheep of the Virgin family. Other than that...the perception is very positive.
