On my commute home earlier this week I was reading Fortune Magazine's statistical overvue of the airlines in 2003.
US Airways Group ranked number 1 in many of the senarios including revenues vs profits. This may be due to the ATSB loan, but it was still interesting to see how well U ranked.
This is one of the statistical charts in order of biggest company to smallest.
Revenues vs. Profits in Millions and overall rank.
AMR 17440 vs (1288) 9
UAL 13724 vs (2808) 10
DAL 13303 vs (773) 8
NWA 9510 vs 248 3
CAL 8870 vs 38 6
U 6846 vs 1461 1
WN 5937 vs 442 2
Alaska 2445 vs 14 7
AWA 2254 vs 57 5
Express Jet Holdings 1311 vs 108 4
U also ranked number 1 in Profits as % of Revenues vs Assests and Stock-holders Equity.
Strange as this all may be, it's all in the April 5th, 2004 addition of Fortune Magazine.
Just thought it was interesting!
