Flight Attendant Furlough Question

I'm going to assume I will be furloughed come Jan. I understand I can non-rev. However, my boarding priority will change to an S4. Do the people I have on my term pass continue to fly standby as well?

Yes, everything the same but no buddy passes- you can even change your info while furloughed (add/remove spouse/domestic partner). Remember after three months your airline code changes from US to MI.

I dont think you can change anything on your pass ie companion dom part etc.... i called and was told you could not add anything while on furlough.

Are you 100% sure about the reg. companion? I thought such changes were only allowed once a year. I'm wanting to drop my domestic partner and add a reg. companion. I can do this at anytime?

I believe your register companion (sister, friend, whatever) loses their flying priv.
I also believe a domestic partner does stay.
This was my understanding anyway.

I did it, two months after I was furloughed. Getting married or partnered, divorced, having or adopting children, and death are considered life events that you dont need to be "active" to let the company know about and add/delete. You may have to talk to a few people but that is the policy- you just have to send them the appropriate paperwork. usfliboi, you should call back and be persistent. Make sure you're talking to someone who knows the benefits well (for example, knows the difference between a domestic partner and a registered companion).

I'm not quite sure about registered companion (edited above post), come to think of it I dont know if furloughees are eligible for that- probably not.

Your best bet is now, while your still active, to fill out your paperwork to drop your domestic partner. You're supposed to do it within 30 days of the relationship ending- this can be done at any time. There is a six month waiting period to add another DP- I'm not sure if this applies to RC or not. I'll find out if a furloughee can have one or not.

When I was Furloughed in May my Roommate to which I had as my Companion lost his flight Prev. But the rest of my Family has stayed on.
As far as making any changes....Can't help you there..... 😉

Thanks Colby. I checked into it as well, and no registered companion program for us "MI" folks.

You may make changes to your depedent/family information and pass while furloughed. Like I said, make sure youre speaking to someone who knows what they are talking about- alot of the people in HR dont seem to these days. Did we contract that work out too?

Light Years....TOO FUNNY !!! Luckily I have no need to talk to HR about ANYTHING!!!

I went through "The only thing constant IS CHANGE" and thought I'd keep my life a little less desruptive while I can !!!
