its so stupid that they are separating them as east and west . the ones we got are 191 and up but the phx based ones start in the 500's . is it because they have different engine types? are the rest of the A321 deliveries with the iae engines? and are they only gonna be flown by phx crews?

Will these new fancy-pants engines give the pig enough oomph?

I can't find the thrust, but I think they are about the same a the CFM. I wonder if they have more climb thrust, because that is when the CFMs really drop off and you start your 30 min climb to the low 30's.Even if they have more thrust, it needs more wing.

It really does a pretty good job and I have actually had more weight and fuel issues using the A320 across the country. It's just no 757, and shouldn't be used at those airports and over terrain that need one.

It's the best landing of the family.

I think we have taken delivery of the last CFM powered Airbus. The manuals have numbers for all engines so that won't be an issue about who flies them.

an odd comment coming from an LGA Airbus pilot.

Tell me where I ever said I thought the A321 was anything BUT a pig. It's always been a pig. In general, Airbuses are really great, very comfortable and quiet. The cabins are roomier than the narrow-body Boeings, so the passengers like them. It just happens that the A321 is too big for its wings and engines, IMHO.

It's a pig. Just ask ATC.

The new A321 aircraft tail numbers 507, 508, and 509, are part of the EAST maintenace program. Just passing along a little info.

All Airbus are part of the "East MX Program", the west tails are/have been bridged at their last/next Check.

Also with the CFM ,as it started to degrade, we could derate it for the 319. I don't think that is possable with the 2500. We have a ton of high time turbines,CFM. And they are having a hard time keeping up. Power by the hour, may be biting them in their back side. Even Pratt is manufacturing parts for CFM.
