ARLINGTON (theHub.com) - The Department of Transportation has introduced a new "Air Travel Price Index" (ATPI) and reports that airline ticket prices dropped 3.2 percent in the three years between the third quarter of 2000 and the same period in 2003.

DOT's Bureau of Transportation Statistics said it hopes the new index will provide new information that differs from the already available average ticket prices and passenger yield data, Aviation Daily reported.

The ATPI is calculated from actual transactions reported in the bureau's quarterly origin and destination survey and accounts for discount and Internet fares that are not always included in other measures of airline prices.

Mr Moderator,

Once again, there is no mention of US Airways in this article.

Why is the board being cluttered with non-US Airways information?

Hmmm..............

Ticket prices dropped 3.2 percent in the last 3 years.

Can anyone tell me how much our wages have dropped in the last 3 years.

Can anyone tell me how much our inurance co-pay has gone up in the last 3 years.

Can anyone tell me how many we have furloughed over the last 3 years.

Can anyone tell me how much fuel we have hedged over the last 3 years.

Seems like somethings out of whack somewhere doesn't it?

mr
