What is US Airways' AFA agreement on in-flight staffing? HP flights are only minimally staffed with no variable crew complement. Quite a hustle when we have a full pax load of 190 on the 757 between PHX and LAS and we do an unabreviated bev. service! And forget about extras f/a s on a meal flt on any aircraft! 4 fa/s on the 757 and 3 on everything else. Most of the f/a group at HP don't even know what a variable crew complement is. Also only our flight deck gets crew meals. What about US?

Same thing at U. Pilots get crew meals too. They min. staffed the flights a while ago. We used to get paid for under staffing. Which was $10 an hour. So, if we flew PHL to LAX on a 757 and we had 4 f/a's and I think it had to have atleast 100 or more passengers, we would get paid $10 per hour flown. Well, they stopped all that in Jan of 2003. So, now it is min. staffing on all A/C.(unless you have a lodo)

What about the 767 and the A330? I know both of those are flown almost exclusively on international routes by US. Since HP doesn't operate them I haven't any idea what the F/A complement is. When I worked for Air France it was(I vaguely remember-since I only worked ground for them years ago) 12-14 for the Airbus and 8-10 for the 767. Just Curious. Maybe it will be one of those many issues to take up with the union when we get our integrated contract negotiations in full swing (We shouldn't bet on it or hold our collective breathes though)! Thanks for the reply.

Well-I suppose we can just forget about ever getting that policy back! The more they cut back on inflight service the more we can focus on being exclusive safety professionals and not have to be concerned about being "Glorified Waiters and Waitresses" (as some uneducated neanderthals still think we are) too!

I just flew a 757 CUN to PHL and the guys up front got a crew meal. Granted they passed and I gave them a better meal from the back. Ummmm we paid for the buy on board meals....yeah thats it, we paid for them. LOL.... The airbus is staffed with 8 domestic and 9 on transatlantic flights. I dont know if the 8 includes the lodo to SJU. The 767 is mixed in with 757 pairings. There is a seperate position to bid for that is the E f/a. You need 4 in the back and god help ya, 1 up front.

So the speakers are above the min. crew compliment? I must say I like that better. At AA, it's one speaker on a narrow body or 767 and two on a 777 but they come out of the regular bid positions. Our Mexico trips on the s80 just have three f/a's but one is a speaker.

Yet another acronym I will need to add to my inflight vocabulary!
