Why is there a discrepancy between the space available seats on the employee travel site and the seat mask for the same flights on the US Airways reservations page.

I'm looking at a flight that shows 14 seats available on the employee site but shows full on the reservation seat search. Why?

Are you using the hub to look up the avail seats or another site? If it's a third-party site, those are generally not updated more than twice and hour ... although, to be truthful, neither is the seat mask on the revenue site ... the discrepancy might have to do with the new 'choice seat' program usairways has implemented ... some seats are not 'available' and therefore do not show on the seat map until 24 hours prior ... look at the row numbers along the top ... generally it's rows 14-17 that are blocked (on narrowbodies) or rows 8-9 (on regionals)

I know what the OP is talking about. I've seen it up to 20 minutes or less before departure. The nonrev site will show 1 seat open. The USairways site will show 10 seats available. Then it will reverse and it will show no seats open on either site. Then it goes to 1 seat open on the US site with 5 seats open on non rev site. Don't understand why the numbers are different.

The PBT that you see on the hub and the seat map are two entirely different things. The PBT on the hub will show that the flight is booked too. The seat map on usairways.com will show the number of seats that are left to assign. This doesn't mean that 10 seats are open, it just means that 10 people have yet to check in. Go by the PBT not the seat map.

Yeah Bud, what he said.

I don't non-rev because it is just too much of a pain in the butt to do so. If I want to fly somewhere I want to get there. I can pick the best airline to get me where I want to go. If that is USAir, then I will buy a ticket on U. Call me crazy but I still have company loyalty.

Rats. I am going to Kenya next August and U doesn't fly there. Piney probably won't be on that flight.
