Embraer (NYSE: ERJ) Executive Vice-President for Engineering and Development, Satoshi Yokota today in Singapore accepted Air Transport World magazine's Aviation Technology Achievement Award.
The award was presented to Embraer at a gala dinner on the eve of the Asian Aerospace 2006 show, being held Feb 21-26 at the Changi Exhibition Center.
The Aviation Technology Achievement award goes to a manufacturer serving the airline industry through the development of a product seen as significantly advancing airline service, capability, efficiency and safety. This product is the EMBRAER 170/190 family, comprising four new-generation jetliners tailored to right-size airline capacity in the 70-to-110 seat size.
"This ATW award recognizes the excellence of Embraer's E-Jets and the use of technology to meet and exceed the needs of our customers. We believe this is a key reason for the wide airline acceptance to the four aircraft of this new family. We are honored to accept it," said Satoshi Yokota.
