I don't see how the TWU could intervene, since it is not a contractual matter. No where in the contract does it say that the company will allow you to walk around with a cell phone or dvd player stuck in your ear.Buck said:Morale is at an all time high since management developed a Personal Electronic Device Policy.
What do you think of this issue?
Should the TWU intervene and how?
Could not answer the question could you? This has nothing to do with AMFA.AAmech said:Poor amfa guys!!! Maybe you'll have to spend your time doing something else? Like perhaps WORK?
Ok I put my on the desk while on the clock, many do.twuer said:How about the issue of "feet kicked up on the desk while on the clock"???? Have they brought that up yet Buck??????
I guess you're just doing your best to stir the amfa pot, huh Buck? Come on man.........At least bring up something arguable!!!
I am starting to get the amfa philosophy I think...........I AM A UNION MAN!!! I CAN DO WHATEVER, WHENEVER I CHOOSE!!! I DON'T HAVE TO LISTEN TO THOSE TO WHOM I AM EMPLOYED.........EVER!!! SCREW MANAGEMENT AND THEIR RULES!!! HEAR ME ROAR!!!!
Yeh right, more like this.............(see below!!)
Mark;Mark Inman said:Hey Twscrewer if you think this is an AMFA issue why not come on out and talk to the TWU supporters on my dock about it . That's right I asked you to be active in representing the members you know like back in the old days .
My opinion is that they should have set a policy long ago. I have no problem following the rules, however when they neglect to enforce them for many years, the employees get use to working a certain way. When the rule is enforce unilaterally because only some are violating a policy that should have been in place, it does make one wonder why punish the masses because management neglected to enforce their rules. When "downtime" is created, the rule for cell phone usage still applies. So if you are not required to be on the aircraft when it is on the ramp you are not allowed to use your phone or the pay phone either.twuer said:Okay Buck, too judgemental on my part! Forgive me!
Then what was the purpose of phrasing the question like this if it wasn't meant to be "picking a fight". Sounds a bit sarcastic to me??
Morale is at an all time high since management developed a Personal Electronic Device Policy.
An all time high Buck??? What is your opinion then?? Like A/C Fixer pointed out what can the TWU do about it if it is not contractual? Does the company not have the right to impose a few rules? I like the handy little electronic devices but a rule is a rule. I wouldn't worry too much about it though. Like you said feet on desks and folks sleeping..........aren't those agaisnt "the rules" as well???? You get caught........get in trouble......... then a TWU officer can come "bail" you out!!! Poetic justice!!!
