SWA continues to prove itself the class act of the airline industry--particularly in regard to its labor/management relations. We were told at AA that buyouts/early outs were way too expensive and we didn't have that kind of money. Of course, the executives did collect their bonusses on the 15th--the same day we announced a $375 million loss for the 1st quarter.
The final participation numbers for Freedom '09 are in
and are slightly more than 1,400 Employees systemwide.
The Employees who elected to participate in the voluntary
eary-out program approved departure dates will fall
between Jul.31 and Apr.15, 2010.
In Mx the early outs has resulted in a shortage of mgt types. There are really no mech thats want to go into mgt as their is no incentive....we will have to see what happens.
