Depends on what day it is. When you want winter gear or line pay, it's a maintenance base. When you work DFW junk or take a plane to the gate, it's a line station. Whatever management wants to do,they can.odie01 said:Been at DWH for over two years, and the majority of the work is out of service junk along with 777 B-checks. What gives? this is the same stuff I was doing at DFW years ago, without the line premium and line qualification.
Oh Yea... hmm. because it was a 3 paycheck month... how about that,,, wonder what the powerful and mighty union will do? File a lawsuit maybe...dfw gen said:welcome to the new america west! where we do what we want if you don't like it grieve it!
anybody else notice your check is wrong? they took out benefits cost when they should not have!
just another thing that management felt they can do, well because. if you don't like it grieve it.
Yes there was a little known letter I saw floating around the breakroom regarding the change to deducting health care costs from 26 paychecks instead of 24, a couple weeks ago.Buster CRC said:What they did this year to camouflage the higher cost of insurance they spread the cost over 26 paychecks instead of monthly.
This is an issue we need to get sorted out. Unfortunately it seems to me we are on an island. Probably not likely to get much support if any, Local 567 is only interested in preserving dues. IMO if we were to get reclassified as a line hangar operation and become part of 591, then 567 would go away. Its clear to me that with the persistent "one station" rumor for DWH/TASEL, that 567 is looking out for only half their membership. All but 2 E Board officers are at TASEL. I`d be ok with a DWH/TASEL/DFW one station. That is unlikely though given union politics, again just my opinion.Been at DWH for over two years, and the majority of the work is out of service junk along with 777 B-checks. As far as our scope at DWH. We are definitely not an overhaul operation. Sometimes I think those outside of our organization do not understand what type of operation we are. As has been stated before, we are one big junk crew. OTS,RON, B-Checks, the occasional Airbus phase check. This on top of our acceptance checks and scheduled special visits.
We were told in a morning meeting recently. That we are losing the 767 pitch load mod. The reason being our tool and die support has to make several trips from AFW to support that mod. This adds significant time to the visit. I do not recall where they are looking at sending it. Tulsa or Mobile.
We are a small operation. 174 AMTs for 3 shifts, 7 days a week. Yes we are a true 7 day operation. Recent T/W and W/TH days off were added. You can bet M/T and TH/FR will be coming next. 7 day coverage, OTS, RON, B checks, working out of the logbook, taxi airplanes to and from the terminal. I would say we have a pretty compelling argument to be considered a line operation.
