US Airways chief named tourism advocate of the year
The Arizona Tourism Unity Dinner has been billed as an opportunity for leaders from the tourism industry, business and government to celebrate tourism and honor the contributions of extraordinary Arizonans for their leadership and support of the tourism industry.
The second-annual event will be held March 8 at the Arizona Biltmore Resort & Spa.
Honorary co-chairs for the event are U.S. Sen. John McCain and Gov. Janet Napolitano, as well as the Arizona Tourism Alliance Board of Directors.
At the event, Doug Parker, president and CEO of US Airways, will be honored as the 2006 Tourism Advocate of the Year.
Meanwhile, the 2006 Governor's Conference on Tourism will be held July 10-12 at Loews Ventana Canyon in Tucson.
