So when did Charles come to the epiphany?

We at U had been hammering this Airline BK strategy as the "airline's free pass" for years now. It became popular since Jerry Glass & his union busting Associates (Ford and Harrison) came on USAirways property March 2002 and implemented "the plan". For Jerry Glass, it was a "playbook" in the making.

I could put out my E-mail that I sent Sept. 2002 to senior top execs when U went into BK #1 letting them know that the Cats out of the Bag...and all the other airlines will be running to get their "BK ticket" ASAP...the "domino effect". USAirways would not be at the wage levels they captured from us for very long... U would not be the only one to bust contracts and force their demands using the Judge's machine gun.
Dave Siegel wrote back and said that U had no choice and that other airlines would not go into BK and hurt their shareholders..he lied, and U went into BK within 6 months of emerging from BK yet a-gain. They wanted even more to ensure they would have the lowest labor costs in the universe.

With all this "right sizing", furloughs, cost cutting and restructuring, BK reorganizations,the airline industry have never operated so poorly, with the worst customer care performance in written airline history, than they do today.

Few People would disagree that, from the Wild West of the past to the corporate outlaws of the present, American society seems to allow and even encourage me-first attitudes devoted to the pursuit of domination.

It would appear most airline executives are truly sociopaths enabling themselves to move forward without remorse destroying thousands of employees lives for their personal benefit beyond the imagination of most.


It's the world we live in and why without faith it's a very hard place to survive while maintaining your sanity, just be glad this is not the end game, for the faithful that is…..

Think about it: if you could suddenly lower your mortgage, return 1 of your 3 cars, and dump your home equity line, would you be better off?

BK laws in this country (and not just those relating to airlines) need to be revamped. LCC is proof positive that BK slews the market economy way out of it's "natural" whack.

Northwest Airlines is a case in point. It landed in bankruptcy court with more than a billion dollars in the bank. Management even claimed, as it declared Chapter 11, that it didn't need the protection of the bankruptcy court to keep operating. It was a bold and shameless maneuver to use the bankruptcy courts to batter its unions, avoid paying its bills and renege on its contracts.


The legal system and the business environment definitely need an overhaul

Some corporate entities derive their profit from walmartizing wages and benefits or providing no benefits.
The intent is to wipe out the influence and power of the middle class..,to have corporate royalty and employee serf.

The attitude of disdain and devalue of the work force is apparent

I would not trust this company one inch. We in the west have all seen the tricks and stalls this CEO has used and now they are using them on the east. The 2 BKs the east had is just more salt in the workers wounds and if they can find a new way to BUST one off in our a$$ they will. Unhappy is not the word I would use for the workers the word for all airline workers is ABUSED . :angry:

i agree w u awausairtech. at least u guys have a union. we at p!$$mont airlines are so badly abused, especially in my city where the ramp mgr is a real well yo uknow what i mean. working short staff and most of us have back injuries go figure. i wonder how long usair will keep their short staff. I am looking forward to transfering to DCA in lat 2008 or early 2009. I havemade contacts with several union reps.

the former CEO and the former CFO of US Airways, who together piloted that airline into debtor's land, reportedly each walked away with $35 million in salary, bonuses and stock options in 1998. They then feathered their retirement nest by receiving administrative credit for more than 20 years that they weren't actually on the job. The CEO, Stephen Wolf, left the company with a $15 million pension cash-out just six months before US Airways declared bankruptcy. h34r:

Ya christians get upset When they find out they have bean lied to there hole lives. Truth is....Bible makes no mention of "HELL". OLD OR NEW. At least my copy doesn't...Got it in brainwashing bible school.
