Any new word on if WN is going to put mechanics in Denver ? The continental hanger in Denver mostly sits empty. UA is quiet about it, which to me probably means something is up.

I know that the DAL supersisor that SWA wants to open up Denver and some upper management went thru that Hgr last monthand did a full tour of everything. So that tells me that it's already in the works. I also know that an off site storage facility has been bought to store parts and bypass the airport taxes.

I was told that DEN will only be staffed with less than 10 mechanics. Also that after the tour of the old continental hanger, it was out of the price range SWA was willing to pay.

Now that sounds like SWA management at it's best. But they will have to act quickly, after all we do have it in writing that they will start Denver maint. 90 days after ratification. Just like we had it in writing for the 4th line, oh! wait a minute, they are back tracking out of the 4th line as we speek!! Wonder what they will try to do to get out of the Denver maint.? Gee, it already sounds like they are using excusses like, too expensive for the hangers. Too bad SWA! Should have thought about that before garrentee to open Denver. Start the 4th line in 2012 as well. What else are we going to let the company renig on. You give them an inch, and they always want a foot... Freakin tired of it!!!

Yea I was told by Collins that most likely 6 mechanics. But it will grow and grow!!

Gary kelly promised to open Denver maint. at last years message to the field. The fact is that the company needs to at least staff a small crew to take care of out of service a/c. We almost have daily road trips to Den and with people staffed there, all we will have to do is send a part-keeping the part tax to a bare minimum

I was also told that SWA already has a small space for there line operation and they are in the process of getting it ready. Like the other poster said, about 6 guys. I dont see much growth unless a deal can be made with the city on taxes

This only prooves what I have been saying that the company is not offering anything to us that were not going to get anyway. IE: Denver maint. (promiced by GK at message to the field). Adding interior mod line for the relief of 4th line. (already started ant finished first one, no vender would take this work-NONE). And of course lets not forget the 401K match. All these items were coming to us anyway, the company just wants it to look like they are bending over backwards for the mechanics to get what they want out of the up coming vote for the senority integration. If the mechanics fall for all this, it will dictate the route the company shall take at the upcoming negos. for a new contract. When we go back to the table after this is voted down, whoever makes the changes, better have been listening to the membership. I think this is why the company did their road show, to get what it would take to get this thing to pass, so it's time to bring the fences down...
