Thank you Delta pilots!

So for our Pilots at AirTran, this moves you to our 737s quicker than what might otherwise have happened or been possible. We completely avoid the effort to transition the aircraft to the Southwest livery and configuration. It simplifies our fleet planning, our scheduling, our flying, and our maintenance.

It's still not set jn stone yet, but this is a huge step for such a rare aircraft. It's a shame though, their biggest flaws, compared to the -700's, are the interiors and the engines, which have been pretty much rectified at this point. I think the 717 would've been a good fit with the SWA seats. As far as the avionics package and maintenance diagnostics, it far surpasses any 737 out today. Oh well, I hate to see her go but I'm happy to welcome a better future for all of us.

After southwest spends $100M zero timing them and putting the delta interior and livery.

Well I hope Swa let's us do the 717 retro fit for delta. I am wondering if that would save us any money. Hell it might help the hanger in atlanta and Orlando out . Since they still have no clue on what they will do with them.

Rumor in Orlando is that we are going to be the dumping ground for all the out of service A/C on the East coast plus scheduled gear changes on top of the already existing Airtran line there. You should see the upgrades made to the hangar something big seems to be coming...

Well that's a plus but you are aware that the 717 is going away and when something goes out of services. It does not randomly say I will brake here, I am assuming you are implying the cracks and so forth that get ferried out to those lovely repair stations. So are they creating back shops there for such events, and hanger Ron .

There's a hangar RON in place already, or so they've renamed it as such. I'm not sure what kind of work is going to be done, I've just heard speculation. But the investment they have made into hangar improvements leads me to believe that they are ramping up for a lot of work here. I spoke to someone from upper management, I bielieve he is, and be told me that you guys call them mega stations, or something along those lines. He said that's what the plan is for MCO, it's going to be a mega station. Strange terminology for me, but I get the concept. Perhaps you can correct me if I'm wrong or maybe clarify what a "mega station" is?

You do know that these locations are all different bid location. So if you bid the line that's where you work, bid the hanger that's where you work. Overtime you can sign up for all locations except inspection(to say you don't have it). Granted that's what your senority holds. Never heard anything being called mega station. Just the big four

I'll assume MCO will be like other MX stations around SWA. You will get Day and Eve shops say around 6-8 mechanics per shift and HGR Ron of about 8-10 mechanics per night. Maybe also a C-check.
