Effective 12/16 2 new additional flights to CMH from STL ...1 American Connection and 1 Mainline.

It was also announced today that service at STL will be boosted by about 15%. This includes about 8 more mainline departures daily and some Eagle and Connection flights as well.

The article also stated that the increase was NOT connected with any traffic problems at ORD, but simply due to increased need in STL. I'm home on my lunch hour and don't have time to post any links now, but will try to do so later tonight.

Much of American's new service begins in December, including flights to three cities - Columbus, Ohio; San Antonio; and Tulsa, Okla. Those cities are currently not served from Lambert by direct American flights, although its affiliate carriers provide service.

Any idea how that'll affect recalls/hiring at the mainline?

Not sure. Mikey posted a link to the article. I don't know if the equipment is coming from elsewhere or if the increases are to be achieved through increased utilization. At any rate, it seems to support the idea that AA is committed to keeping a substantial presence, and a crew base, in STL. Good news for the people who want to go back there.

<_< We're still reconfiguring the ex-TWA A/C that were parked in the desert. A 767-200, was returned to service last week! And at least one former TWA 757 will fallow shortly! More MD-80's (Super 80's) to come through 2005!

Keep your fingers crossed. Rumors are hot and heavy that there will be a recall of approx. 600 flight attendants announced later today.

MCI - If I recall correctly, there were 28 TWA MD80's and 14 AA 767-200's that were parked in the desert. Do you have any idea how many have returned? What the timetable is for returning the rest to service?

And finally, why isn't the company saying anything about the readdition of these aircraft to the fleet?

Earlier this year, in a conference call with analysts, Arpey mentioned that one 762, some exTWA 757s and several MD-80s would be returned to service this year.

Officially, the other 13 762s that were stored early in 2003 were retired late last year and AA's line on them is:

In the fourth quarter of 2003, the Company decided to permanently retire its nine owned Boeing 767-200s and four owned Boeing 767-200ERs, which were previously in temporary storage. The Company has no plan to return these aircraft to service and is investigating disposition opportunities.

It would be great if AA would reconsider its decision on the other 13 762s and return them to the active fleet (after their heavy maintenance) but unless someone has heard to the contrary, they ain't coming back.

AFS to BOS, MIA and IAD is probably history. :(

But I would love to be proven wrong.

<_< Kik, FW----- I really don't know! I believe I heard there are about 13 MD-80's left to do, and they won't all be back tell the end of next year! Or so I was told! I'll ask arround and see what I can find something out! But you know, if US, or United, should happen to go Chap.7, They'de be some of the first to ones back! No matter what Management says now!!! And no, I'm not wishing that ( Chap.7) on anyone!!!!!!
