Cnbc Screwed Up Opening Bell

HP Today said yesterday that:

LCC SET TO RING THE BELL
Tomorrow morning, Doug Parker will start the first day of trading for LCC, the new stock ticker symbol for the new US Airways, by ringing the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange. Watch it happen live at approximately 9:29 a.m. EST on CNBC.

CNBC was doing a correction and missed the opening bell, and missed it on the local channels. Did anyone see it?

I'm jealous of her. Who is she sleeping with? I want to be in all those videos. I like to be the center of attention. I'm considering becoming a newscaster, maybe even just the traffic. You still get to dress nice and carry on in a professional manner, unlike Flight Attending where you are now encouraged to act "low-cost" and be trashy while collecting government cheese. It's not what I signed up for.

It's not easy doing the videos. I've found most of the gals/guys doing the video have had extensive media training. It's harder than it sounds. As for the girl that's currently doing the videos, she's quite good. She looks a lot like a former US Airways flight attendant named Katrina Forte, who while flying, was the traffic reporter on WPXI in PIT; she's since quit and is working at QVC.

No real offense inteded, but IMO whoever arragned her uniform and the way she is standing in the "new descent video" should be shot. She looks really awkward! I also find that her voice is not smooth enough to have her act as a narrator for these videos (notice the very apparent voice crackings when she says "star alliance"). Call me crazy but the way she says US Airways also sounds just plain wierd.

Doug Parker also looks terrible in the new "Day 1" video that is on the hub.

Whoever is in their (HP) media services department really needs to make these videos look a tad more polished and professional. The logos and background color schemes look like something out of a highschool videomaking project.

I prefer the female FA in the USAirways video (the one who hugs the seat cushion and says goodbye with the pilot). She looks extremely smart, professional while at the same time very attractive. The guy in our vid blowing into the lifevests needs to go though, his eyes really bulge out whenever he blows into those tubes!
