Anyone know how AirTran is doing in these two cities so far? I'm really curious about the CLT service that faces stiff competition from both Delta and USAir.

I sat at the KFC in the A terminal in CLT at the ValueJet gate and watched and counted the passengers boarding the BWI flight. There were 6. :p

I have not flown on AirTran yet; however, people I know who have flown out of CLT on AirTran said their flights have been sold-out. They also commented on how fresh and clean the aircraft are, how friendly the staff are, on the ground and in the air, and one person commented that they were not charged anything to change to an earlier flight from ATL to CLT. I've heard some very positive responses.

I flew AirTran last weekend from CLT to BWI. The flight up was about 90% full and coming back was about 60% full. On board service was great and the B717 was a nice ride. I was suprised and will fly them again.

And AirTran can still turn a profit off of the 6 pax on the route, while brand 'U' couldn't do it if they had 600...

A co-worker traveled this past Monday from SAV to ATL and on to CLT. The ATL to CLT flight had 17 empty seats, per the FA. Ninety percent payload. Looking good. Hope they keep it up so we will see those flights to the N.E., including LGA, and FL soon.

Didn't FL just claim a loss for the Q1 2005? So much for making a profit on those 6 people... hope there was a lot of mail down below!
