British Airways PLC said Wednesday it ordered four Boeing 777-200 ER aircraft to bolster its fleet.
The aircraft will be delivered in 2009, the company said in a statement. British Airways also took options for four more aircraft for delivery the following year.
The ease of assimilating up to eight aircraft into our existing 777 fleet, rather than having a small number of A330s swung the balance in Boeing's favor," BA Commercial Director Robert Boyle said in a statement. The airline reiterated that it expects to place major orders later this year
