Wish the name was changed back to USAir. Everytime they speak about US, they say USAir NOT US Airways. I think that commercial and song wre the best USAir ever produced.

That was THE BEST commercial US ever did. I dont know the Ad Agency that was responsible, but it put the company in a beautiful light. In the late 60's & early 70's PSA had some great ones too. Even had one with Sonny & Cher singing the background. Would love to see some of those posted if anyone has access to them.

I think I remeber this being a Piedmont ad back in the mid-80's. Did they re-make it as a USAir ad once the takeover occured? I could swear there was a Peidmont ad that was just like this one....

Hi,

This was not a Piedmont Ad. This was a new commercial that was produced shortly after the new paint, which was after the merger with Piedmont.

I think I remember the commercial was shot in Florida, around Gainsville Fla if I remember correctly. The plane is a 757, which came after the merger with Piedmont.

This was the Scholfield era, and just before the British Airways investment.

The commercial did not run for long as the company never did advertise much and money was tight by this time.

Anybody remember anything else?

so umm, how old is this commercial? looks early 90's to me

Bus Driver is correct, was filmed at GNV using Ship 604, the first (ex Eastern) 757. I believe it was filmed prior to the start of scheduled 757 service. There was another commeroial filmed around the same time primarily at MIA that parts of are still in the current East safety video.

Can anybody find the full USAir begins with you commercial? I've yet to see the entire commercial with the entire song. There wa also an awesome orchestrated version that few heard.

I liked the one that started with the 757 being pushed out of the hangar and ended with kid in the field pretending he was an airplane.
