I read that Phoenix is testing a new scanner that basically strip searches the passenger. Of course, the image has been "dumbed down" and supposedly poses no privacy (i.e. nudity) issues, but that's not my point.
Here's the quote that got me laughing and steaming:
"It's 100 percent voluntary, so if the passenger doesn't feel comfortable with it, the passenger doesn't have to go through it," TSA spokesman Nico Melendez said.
