So .. as jetBlue comes closer to introducing more cities (1 more planned to be announced this year), the rumours are flying around JFK like crazy ....

If you go to the "Work Here" section of jetblue.com, you'll see under "locations" Boston, MA (with no job postings) and one for Calgary, AB (with a LiveTV job opening).

Now, we get our aircraft serviced at YWG which is Winnipeg, and LiveTV's done in MCO and Boston has been a rumour for a long time ...

So what do you all think that this means?

hmmmm ... FLL-BOS and JFK-YYC?

I believe the Calgary position is to support WestAir's purchase of LiveTV units for their aircraft. Calgary is the airline's headquarters.

I was told that Calgary is just for live T.V. purposes and at this time, B6 has no plans to enter in the Canada market.
As far as BOS goes? I think it is more than safe to say the BOS will be B6's newest city. The list of potential cities this year was

BOS or MHT
RDU
HOU or DFW
SJC
PHX
ORD
NAS

Not to say that one city is more likely than the other, but Boston is a safe guess. I don’t think they will fly from BOS to JFK; they will most likely fly from BOS to FLL and BOS to LGB. Although B6 is maxed out in terms of available slots at LGB, you will notice that a significant number of slots are used from LGB to SLC, LAS and OAK. As history has shown, these flights are just fillers, to hold the slots for flights that can produce more revenue, i.e. LGB to FLL, JFK, ATL, and IAD. I think that when BOS comes on line, B6 will reduce the short haul frequencies out of LGB and introduce LG to BOS service.

Thats a good speculation. Theres also a rumor of taking away LGB-LAS and maybe an LGB-OAK for a "new city" which we all thought would be ORD. I wonder if maybe this is in response to America West's decision to begin LAX-BOS.

Neeleman has also said that he will keep LGB-SLC because of the lack of service between SLC-JFK .. since we have a big res and corporate center there.

Calgary is on the list of potential cities, along with Vancouver, Toronto (YYZ), Montreal, and Halifax but I assume that thats way down the road.

I hope it is FLL-BOS because there is so much room to grow out of FLL, and we are already so established there.

I AGREE WITH YOU ON FLL...
DAVE BARGER ALSO SAID THAT THEY ARE LOOKING AT ANOTHER CITY IN THE CARRIBEAN. I AM ASUMING IT HAS TO BE NAS OR AUA, SINCE THOSE ARE THE FEW DESTINATIONS WHERE CUSTOMS AND US IMMIGRATIONS CAN BE PERFORMED ON DEPARTURE. THE LIST OF CITIES B6 CAN FLY TO, INTERNATIONALY, IS LIMITED FOR NOW BECUASE OF T6 AT JFK, NO FIS AREA.
 
oops! didn't meen to type that last message all in caps, dont worry i wasnt yelling.
 
I dont think the A320 (in B6's configuration) can fly from LGB-BOS.... unless they really weight restricted it... can anyone correct me??? also OAK-BOS ?
