Were you just a little upset when you learned that the new IAM fleet service contract will put top of scale rampers at $2.00 more per hour??!! RSS leads will make $1.00 more above that. Starting pay for a ramper will be $11.00. :blink:

It will be interesting to see how that will go over. With both starting pay and TOS being higher than customer service pay, there are many who will find it insulting at best. Not that there is anything to be done about it, what with the CWA contract locked in thru 2011.

What is the proposed top out for fleet service? Even if it is higher than Customer Service, the CWA scale was agreed on 2 years ago and agents have been geting paid more than fleet all that time. Holding out for a little more for years will cost you in the long run. Below is the current top out for customer service which includes a .25 bump for anyone dealing directly with customers. (Which I think is everyone)

2008 - $18.85
2009 - $19.41
2010 - $20.17
2011 - $20.97
2012 - $21.39

Just my personal opinion and I'm certainly not familiar with all the details, but why would these guys turn down a decent raise in pay, especially for those in class 2 stations? I understand they're getting 2 additional holidays back and double time...sick pay...well...it's better than the last contract.

PBI educate yourself and you'll see why it is a POS and starting pay for a ramper is not 11.00

Don't be fooled by a little bit more an hour for Fleet pay. First of all, as posted above the CSA group has been earning more per hour for a much longer period than the Fleet group. Your group didn't lose over 20 stations to outsourcing, and you never had the 60 day furlough rule crap that Fleet does. How many stations still have CSA's earing top rate, while their former co-workers from the ramp are either out on the street or working for $10 an hour with the contract vendor on the ramp??? I would have loved to been in your workgroup earning a friggen measly $1 an hour less to still have my job instead of being tossed out on the street like trash after 25 years of service. Count your blessings instead of starting a stupid flame-bait thread like this. :blink:

It is not my intention to start a flame war here....I'm actually happy for you guys...and we've all been thru the ringer...some worse than others, of course.

Funny how ''pbi'' titles the thread CSA Pay and then says ''it is not my intention''.
I guess they had no thoughts on the Sep. TA............hhuumm.
This should be in the labor thread, good try though, to not start anything. Another
vote YES, I would if I was in your shoes but I'm not affiliated with anyone in the IAM
but man that union looks good.

:rolleyes: This topic was created purely for discussion...nothing more...nothing less! I'd just like to get an opinion from the Customer Service group.

So on date of ramification the top out pay is $20.67 hr and $21.67 hr for lead for fleet service???? Are you sure about that????
And CWA sits at $18.85 till 2009 unless we become IAM under UAL regime and if that happens???????????? The license and skilled machines union will take care of us non-skill agents like they did fleet service NOT!
I’ll take my lumps and stay were I’m at COC

CWA pay scale TOP OUT ONLY

2008-$18.85
2009-$19.41
2010-$20.17
2011-$20.97
2012-$21.39

FLEET SERVICE pay scale TOP OUT ONLY

2008-$19.00
2009-$19.38
2010-$19.77
2011-$20.17
If needed 2012-$20.57 with no provisions for raises after this date if no new agreement reached.

So now lets compare

2008 = +.15 for fleet
2009 = +.3 for CWA
2010 = +.40 for CWA
2011 = +.80 for CWA
2012 = +.82 for CWA

So for 2008 ONLY will Fleet Service at TOP OUT ONLY be paid more than the CWA. Now I do not know how the CWA sups get paid. But base pay CWA is more.

Since we are no longer interchangeable it really shouldnt matter what each group is getting paid in comparison to the other, imo. We are two separate employee groups that should be able to get their own contracts, not dependent on what the other group can get.
