Codeshare expanded to PHX. Maui is now on the SWA Interactive Routemap (DING!!).

You may now move more freely to Hawaii.

Who'da ever thunk??? :up:

P.S. For you purists, yes I know there are three airports on Maui, Kahului being the OGG designator. Maui is just an easier listing for our website. <_<

Southwest Air Expands At Sky Harbor;
Adds Eight New Gates And Expands ATA Codeshare

DOW JONES NEWSWIRES
March 7, 2005 3:52 p.m.

PHOENIX -- Southwest Airlines (LUV) added 8 new gates at the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, allowing the airline to expand in the fifth busiest airport in the world.

In addition, the low-cost airline said the new facility in Phoenix also gives Southwest the opportunity to expand its code-share agreement with ATA Holding Inc.'s (ATAHQ) ATA Airlines, which offers service to Maui, Hawaii.

Earlier in December, Southwest Airlines purchased ATA Holdings Corp.'s (ATAHQ) gates at Chicago's Midway Airport. Southwest also entered into a code-share agreement with ATA, allowing the airline to offer additional destinations to customers.

In a press release Monday, Southwest said code-share service with ATA flights in Phoenix for continuation to Maui is being offered from Albuquerque, N.M.; Austin, Texas; Nashville; Houston; Chicago's Midway; Oklahoma City; Omaha, Neb.; Providence, R.I.; Raleigh/Durham, N.C.; and St. Louis.

Codeshare service with ATA flights in Phoenix for continuation to Honolulu, Hawaii, is being offered from Albuquerque, Austin; Birmingham, Ala.; El Paso, Texas; Houston; Islip, N.Y.; Raleigh/Durham, N.C.; and Salt Lake City.

Southwest will now utilize a total of 24 gates at Sky Harbor.
