Lt. Tim Woods, 30, supervised 50 members of the Arizona Army National Guard while serving 11 months in Iraq. Company C, 1st Battalion, 189th Aviation (Air Assault) flew 450 successful combat missions, logging a total of 5,000 flight hours. On Tuesday, Woods and his charges flew eight Black Hawk helicopters used in combat back to Phoenix, signifying the end of their deployment.
