APU fire at EWR

Aircraft was out at end of runway number 2 or 3 for takeoff and had a tail pipe fire.  UAL 757 behind saw it and notified the tower and tower advised crew,  Crew pulled the bottle and that was the end of the fire.  Aircraft taxied back to gate after getting hit by some water from the Port Fire Crew

There go those West pilots, messing up a perfectly good aircraft... Lol, sorry, couldn't resist... :) Glad everyone is Ok... :)

Good thing it was not a B-727 where a passengers can see the APU torching and having a passenger initiated evacuation while the aircraft is still moving.

Round em up... ;)

Didnt a west pilot suggest at a crew news from PHX, turning in East crews for "3 engine taxi"?

I hope there was an MEL requiring APU usage, otherwise, this crew just "self disclosed".....

Are you trying to suggest that a West Crew would Violate Company Policy?  How dare you suggest such a thing.
