Just found this on Jetnet. So many words to say absolutely nothing anyone is interested in. Does any of this provide an answer to any questions that anyone is asking? (Sorry about the formatting, but trying to cut and paste from HTML to text doesn't always work.)

APA Submits Proposed MOU for Consideration

Today the Allied Pilots Association (APA) announced that its Board of Directors has voted 11-5 to approve a proposed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that would provide the framework for the terms of employment for pilots in the event of a merger between AMR and US Airways.

The APA's proposal for this framework is now subject to review and approval by American, US Airways and USAPA, the union representing US Airways’ pilots.

Key Points
American Airlines remains actively engaged in discussions with US Airways, APA and USAPA to develop a framework for the terms of employment for pilots in the event of a merger.

  • The APA's proposed MOU is approved only by its Board of Directors at this point, and is subject to review and approval by the other three parties involved.

  • If the MOU is agreed upon, it will assist our stakeholders, including the AMR Board of Directors, in making an informed decision as to whether a merger should be pursued.

  • The step comes as a result of American and the UCC inviting the unions to take part in these discussions to better evaluate the costs and benefits of operational and pilot seniority integration. We remain committed to our efforts to secure the best outcome for our stakeholders, our people and our customers.

  • Talks surrounding a potential merger are currently under a Non-Disclosure Agreement and parties are not able to speak to the details and terms of what is being discussed.

And how is the TWU preparing for this possible merger?,oh yeh they have no reason to prepare, just agree to what the company proposes when the time comes,...simple. Is it me or does it always seem we (TWU members) ratify agreements before the flight attendents and pilots do, for work force budgeting going first it gives a great more levity for pay and bennys for the guys going last, we end up funding alot of what they get with our low ball contracts, think its more done by design than happenstance.
