I just went to AA.com and looked at a DFW-SEA r/t leaving on 12/17 and returning on 12/19 and the fare was $2238.20 for coach. That is insane, but there is no other non-stop competition. Nice premium for AA!! Go get them Airtran!!

You have to think that AirTran had a plan for those 19 planes b4 the ATA opportunity presented itself, so FL will be just fine. Midway would have been a great instant hub that would have solved a lot of problems, but electing to not get into a bidding war and overpaying for the deal was also a smart move. There are lots of places where AirTran can successfully continue to grow in 2005.skyguy25 said:AirTran now has to worry about successfully deploying up to 19 new aircraft in 2005 with a profit. Looks bleak in the midst of the ATA asset deal, code-shares coming, and the possibilty of the Wright being lifted.

It was even a bigger crock of #### that Air Tran's proposal excluded the acquisition of ATA employees. It was a bad deal and I am happy that the SWA acquisition preserves jobs for ATA employees at Midway. No love lost for Air Tran, here.
