I may be mistaken on this, but I think that Southwest broke a long-standing record in December with the delivery of 73G N261WN: The largest number of a single aircraft type delivered from the manufacturer (discounting Soviet-era Aeroflot).
Until now, this record had been held by American, who took delivery of 260 new MD-80s from McDonnell-Douglas between 1983 and 1992. Yes, I know that they operate well over 300 of the type, but the remainder were acquired with the TWA takeover.
If my count is correct, N261WN is their 261st -700 delivered from Boeing since December 1997. The first hundred were the N7XX series, followed by the N4XX series and now the N2XX group.
N262WN was just delivered this past week, so that (if my count is correct) makes 262 and rising...
